Direct-to-consumer shipping (DTC) involves shipping items purchased on Tock directly to the purchaser's home.

Setting up DTC shipping

To set up DTC shipping:

  • From the Control Panel tab, click To Go.
  • Click Add new experience or duplicate an existing offering by clicking the three dots to the right of the experience name, then clicking Duplicate.
  • In the next window, choose Prepaid delivery, then choose My business will provide drivers.
  • Follow the prompts to customize your offerings. After creating the experience, complete these steps:
    • When configuring Order Quantities within Inventory Setup, create one time slot and add the number of shipments you can accommodate each day. Guests will only be able to select a shipment date, not a time.
    • Within the experience Description on the General information page, we suggest adding the following language for guests: "Please note, the date that you select is when your order will be shipped out (not when it will arrive."
  • Scroll to the button of the General information page. Update your Experience Availability Cutoff to ensure that you have enough time between a guest placing an order and the order being shipped.
  • Under Scheduled shipments, check the box that says Enable scheduled shipments.
  • From the Control Panel tab, click Settings, then click Delivery. Confirm whether you have a driving distance set up, as this radius will also apply to DTC shipping.

Managing DTC shipping

Here are a few details for how to manage DTC shipping:

  • When guests select your DTC shipping offering on your public business page, they'll choose the date that they want the order to be shipped to them.
  • Delivery orders will populate under the Reservations tab, nestled within the Orders tab of your Timeline or Service page.
  • From the Operations tab, use the Delivery report to download or print a list of shipping orders and guest information useful to fulfill orders.

FAQ

How do I charge guests for shipping?

There are two setup options:

  1. To charge a flat rate, click the Fees tab within the experience, then click Add fee
  2. To charge a percentage-based fee, click the Pricing and policy tab within the experience, then select Require a service charge and input your desired percentage.

Can guests outside of the U.S. order DTC shipping offerings?

If the Driving Radius within the Delivery tab is left blank, guests from around the world will be able to order. If a distance is configured, guests will only be able to order if they're address is within that radius. If you are unable to accommodate a shipment, you'll need to cancel that order.

Does Tock fulfill DTC shipping orders?

No. While guests can place their orders through Tock, your business will need to fulfill the shipment.
