Selecting images
Select your best images based on these recommended qualities.
Unique
Your imagery should immediately capture guests’ attention and beautifully show off your space, food, guests in action, or whatever you believe best represents your brand identity. It will be used not only on your public profile, but also throughout Tock’s site.
High-quality
Blurry, lower resolution images can deter guests from exploring and booking reservations at your business. Investing in professional photography is worth the cost and an easy way to increase conversion.
Avoid text and logos
Your imagery isn’t the place to convey important information. Images with text are overlooked and unfriendly to guests who speak different languages. They are also often cropped or illegible on smaller devices.
Sizing
Follow these sizing guidelines to ensure your images are displayed properly.
Business page banner
The business page banner image maintains an aspect ratio of 2.5:1 when scaled on different devices, and your image will be cropped if it doesn’t meet that ratio. When creating a custom image or art for the banner, we recommend using the dimensions 2500px × 1000px.
The business page banner image will also be used in cards on the home page. It will be cropped to a 3:2 aspect ratio, so ensure you keep the focal content in the center 80% of the asset. If you’re designing a 2500px × 1000px asset, keep focal content in the center 2000px. Avoid adding text and logos to the image, as they will get very small and potentially cut off. The image should be under 10MB.
Dedicated offering page banners
Offering page banner images maintain an aspect ratio of 2:1 when scaled on different devices, and the image will be cropped if it doesn’t meet that ratio. When creating a custom image or art for the banner, we recommend using the dimensions 2000px × 1000px.
Similar to business banner images, this image will also be used in the cards on the home page. It will be cropped to a 3:2 aspect ratio, so ensure you keep the focal content in the center 75% of the asset. If you’re designing a 2000px × 1000px asset, keep focal content in the center 1500px. Avoid adding text and logos to the image, as they will get very small and potentially cut off. The image should be under 10MB.
Gallery
In the gallery view, images are cropped to approximately a 15:9 aspect ratio. When viewed in the slideshow, images are shown at their original size, so there are no dimension requirements. Each image should be under 10MB.
Add-ons
The images uploaded for add-ons have a maximum size of 1200px × 600px. In the list view they are cropped to a square, and in the details view they are cropped to maintain a 2:1 aspect ratio. Each image should be under 2MB.
