Note: This feature is only supported for businesses using Availability Planning reservation management. Edits made directly on Timeline will be overwritten when publishing a Schedule.  After publishing a Schedule, remake Timeline edits, as needed. 

Placing holds

The holding feature allows you to withhold certain reservation inventory from being bookable. This is helpful if you have a reservation you need to book but for any reason cannot book at the time. 

To place hold on an unassigned slot on Timeline 

  1. From the Reservations tab, click Timeline.
  2. Click the slot you want to update, then either:
    • Click Modify in the bottom-left, then click Hold.
    • Click Hold from the pop up menu on Timeline.
  3. For communal slots, select the number of tickets to hold, then click Update hold
  4. For non-communal slots, select one of these options: 
    • General hold, then click Hold Reservation
    • Hold for guest, enter guest information, then click Hold reservation for guest. 

To place holds on individual tables on Timeline 

  1. From the Reservations tab, click Timeline.
  2. Click the table name to update.
  3. From the menu, click Place holds
  4. Click the tile on Timeline for the hold to start.
  5. Click a second tile for the hold to end. 
  6. Click Hold table. 

Removing holds

The feature to remove holds allows you to quickly clear holds from a table or slot.

To remove holds on an unassigned slot on Timeline

  1. From the Reservations tab, click Timeline.
  2. Click the unassigned slot to update.
  3. For communal slots, either:
    • Click Modify in the bottom-left, then click Hold/unhold, select how many tickets of the group to hold, click Update hold.
    • Click Hold/unhold from the pop up menu, select how many tickets of the group to hold, click Update hold. 
  4. For non-communal slots, either: 
    • Click Modify in the bottom left, then click Remove Hold.
    • Click Remove Hold from the pop up menu. 

To remove holds on individual tables on Timeline

  1. From the Reservations tab, click Timeline.
  2. Click the table to update.
  3. From the menu, click Remove all holds.
