Note: This feature is only supported for businesses using Availability Planning reservation management. Edits made directly on Timeline will be overwritten when publishing a Schedule.  After publishing a Schedule, remake Timeline edits, as needed. 

Adding blocks

Adding blocks on Timeline makes removing online availability quick and easy for specific tables, time ranges, or entire rooms. This is useful for closing availability same-day.

If you have more than a week’s notice of a closed day, we recommend adding a Closed Day from the Availability Planning tab. This ensures that the date will remain closed even if your Schedule is republished. For more information on Closed Days, view the Creating Closed Days article.

To block a table or room permanently, make updates to your Schedule. For more information, view the Editing the Advanced Grid article.

To block Rooms by time range on Timeline

  1. From the Reservations tab, click Timeline.
  2. Click the pencil icon.
  3. Click Block online availability.
  4. Select the start time and end time for blocks.
  5. Add a blue check next to the Rooms to block.
  6. Click Block Online Availability to save.

To block tables individually on Timeline

  1. From the Reservations tab, click Timeline.
  2. Click the table name to update.
  3. Click Block Online Availability.
  4. Select the time range to block or block the entire table.
    • To block by time range, click the tile on the Timeline for the block to start, click a second tile for the end time, then click Block selected time.
    • To block the entire table, click Block entire table.

Removing blocks

Quickly remove blocks from specific tables, time ranges, or entire rooms. This is helpful when you need to reopen previously blocked inventory.

To remove blocks from Rooms by time range on Timeline

  1. From the Reservations tab, click Timeline.
  2. Click the pencil icon.
  3. Click Remove blocks.
  4. Select the start time and end time to remove blocks.
  5. If desired, check the boxes for each Room to remove blocks.
  6. Click Remove blocks.

To remove blocks from individual tables on Timeline

  1. From the Reservations tab, click Timeline.
  2. Click the table name to update.
  3. Click Remove blocks.
  4. Select the time range to unblock or unblock the entire table.
    • To unblock by time range, click on the Timeline for the start time and end time to remove the block, then click Unblock selected time.
    • To unblock the entire table, click Unblock entire table.
