Communal tables group reservations by traditional shared tables, bar seating, or a group of tickets for an event. Bookings for a communal table will have the same start time.
- Availability Planning customers can create communal tables within the Advanced Grid of a Schedule.
- Blueprint customers can create a communal table when configuring their Blueprint.
- Communal tables can be created directly on the Timeline in the Unassigned Reservation section.
Adding a communal table
To create a communal table:
- Click the + icon for the time you want to add a slot.
- Adjust the table size (total number of tickets), minimum party size, and maximum party size.
- Click the Communal box.
- If desired, check the boxes for Allow stragglers, and/or Even party sizes only.
- Select an Experience from the dropdown.
- Click the Availability Status: Available or Held.
- Click Create table.
Stragglers
This feature allows for customization of party sizes that are able to book the last seats of a communal slot.
- Selecting Allow stragglers means guests can book all available slots.
- Opting to not Allow stragglers means the system will prevent bookings that leave only one remaining available ticket. For reservations that are in high demand, this can lead to a loss of revenue.
